About the new Performer Ratings System

The truth is simply this: different folks like and support different kinds of entertainment, even Christians. Some Christian musical entertainers involve you in their performance, while others allow you to simply sit back and enjoy what they do. Add in non-Christian-oriented performers who, while not playing primarily for Jesus but still offer real entertainment, and it can get confusing.
Then there is the matter of for-profit vs. non-profit groups and performers.
It is in these regards that the PRS guide was developed. It can help you find more precisely what you may be looking for in musical entertainment for yourself and/or your family. Many sincere thanks to those who contributed freely of their time and suggestions leading to its development.
The system was created by Len Hamilton, who alone is responsible for any and all descriptions of performers and/or their rating, if either is given. Ratings shown in our 2010 Schedule or elsewhere DO NOT mean nor imply any performer or group is better than another, nor implies recommendation nor preference over any other performer or group. It is simply a guide for consideration.
But again, different folks may prefer and may support different kinds of entertainment. We sincerely hope this helps in your decision making process.
Suggested for the whole family. Audiences are often invited to join along in singing or through other participation. This rating is for groups or performers often presenting original musical compositions as part of their not-for-profit, dedicated ministries in Jesus' Name and not heard elsewhere. A freewill offering is sometimes asked to help defray their appearance expenses. Recordings and/or other items may be available and offered for sale.
CEI -- Christian Entertainment and Inspiration.
Similar to CFEI+ above, these are Christian-oriented, often vocational and/or for-profit performers or groups who may occasionally present a blend of Christian and secular music. A freewill offering may be asked to help defray their appearance expenses. Recordings and/or other items may be available and offered for sale.
GFE -- Good Family Entertainment.
Though not engaged in Christian musical ministry, these are for-profit groups or performers who are believed to offer Good Family Entertainment and may be occasionally brought to TWICMC to offer audiences a broader spectrum of good and enjoyable entertainment. A freewill offering may be asked to help defray their appearance expenses. Recordings and/or other items may be available and offered for sale.
